CSW: Red Wednesday

Take action for the persecuted church on #RedWednesday

Dear Peter

On Wednesday 22 November, CSW is joining with Aid to the Church in Need to stand with the persecuted Church and raise awareness of the plight of persecuted Christians all over the world. Churches and public buildings across the UK will light up in red, the colour of martyrdom, in solidarity with persecuted Christians and to encourage people to pray for their protection.

Here’s what you can do to get involved:

ACT: Ask your MP to stand up for faith & freedom

You can take part in #RedWednesday right now by emailing your MP, asking them to ask the speakers of both Houses to give permission for the Houses of Parliament to light red on 22 November and attend a special photo opportunity with CSW and Aid to the Church in Need from 3.30-5pm.

JOIN US: Show your support at our Westminster event

Come along to the piazza at Westminster Cathedral at 6pm to show your support for persecuted Christians and stand for faith and freedom. We’ll be gathering with representatives from different denominations ahead of a special prayer service in the Cathedral itself: it’s going to be a truly special event.

SHARE: If you’re a social superstar!

Wear red and share a selfie on the 22 November using #redwednesday, or have a red-themed bake sale. You could ask your church to light up in red – just like Westminster cathedral – or organise any other red-themed event you can think up. The possibilities are truly endless!

Thank you so much: I can’t wait to stand with you for the persecuted Church.
