There are just over seven weeks to go until world leaders meet in Glasgow for the UN climate talks, COP26.
We’re counting down the days because this could be a huge milestone in tackling climate change – if leaders are willing to step up. The climate crisis is already harming people in poorer communities and threatens to push millions more into poverty. This isn’t God’s plan, so we must speak up together.
There are lots of ways you and your church can get involved, no matter where you are. Our new COP26 webpage will be updated with the latest events and resources, so be sure to keep an eye on it.
One thing you can do right now is register your interest for the COP26 Church Service, and speak with your church leaders to save the date of Sunday 7 November. Churches across the UK will be joining this inspiring climate-themed time of prayer and worship, and we hope yours will too.
You and your church can also get involved with nationwide marches for climate justice on Saturday 6 November – a global ‘Day of Action’. Visit our COP26 Day of Action webpage to download a how-to guide, sign up for a march near you, and order placards.
Let’s keep taking action prayerfully as we approach this important summit.
