Dear Friends

It’s been an interesting month in political life! Our sixth hope, for a politics characterised by listening, truthfulness and kindness, has certainly had some relevance. As the next few weeks unfold and we get a better picture of what our next Prime Minister might be like, we’re hoping that these qualities play a big part.

At the same time, we know that all the attention on the race to be Prime Minister is taking the focus away from families who are really struggling with the rising cost of living. We’ve been working with friends and partners to find ways to draw attention on this urgent issue, and we know lots of churches are already providing emergency relief. Together, we’re hopeful that these will be crucial steps towards more support for those who need it most.

Every Blessing

Season of Creation Resources

1 September – 4 October is the Season of Creation. This year, we’re encouraging you to dig in to some just desserts, and explore the relationship between what we eat and our environmental impact. We’ve put together some resources to support worship leaders in holding a Season of Creation or Harvest service this year.

Take a listen... We’ve recorded a conversation between Ali Birkett and Sarah Hulme – Check out this conversation between Sarah, the Methodist Rural Officer, and Ali, a tenant arable farmer in North Northumberland. We’ve got discussion questions to help you dig into their reflections.

We’ve also got some prayers for an all-age service, family resources and a list of places you can explore for another bite of the conversation.
