Cereals for Schools

This year at our Harvest service on Sunday 7 October we will again be collecting boxes of cereals for school breakfast clubs.

The types of cereal we need are supermarkets’ own branded versions of:

  • corn flakes,
  • malt wheats,
  • rice pops and
  • wheat biscuits.

The reason we prefer own-brand versions is that they generally contain less sugar.

We have two schools, not far away, where we have built good links, where we know the importance of their breakfast club and how the children there learn much better if they have had a good healthy breakfast. We have decided to call this project Cereals for Schools.

We will give the cereals collected to these two schools to use as they want. If we collect more boxes of cereals than they can cope with—which would be lovely—we will give to another school as well.
