Dear Peter,

At Harvest, we celebrate God’s great love in providing all we need. It’s also when we share his blessings with people who are struggling. This is what Tearfund is here for, and this Harvest I hope you’ll join us in making it one to celebrate. A gift can make a huge difference for people living in poverty, many of whom are carrying an enormous weight.

Aksa is one such person. She is 58 and has to care for her family, including her grandchildren, all on her own. She’s up before sunrise and works until midnight, at home or on farms some distance away, somehow surviving on one small meal a day. Yet, as incredibly tough as her life is, her trust in God can’t be shaken.

Because of the persistent drought, Tearfund is supporting a program called Farming God’s Way. But, with no rain for so long, your support is vital for it to truly benefit people like Aksa. She joined two years ago and what she learned about conservation farming has enabled her to make more of her small plot.

If you would like to support families like Aksa’s, through a kind gift please visit our website. You can be assured it will be used wherever the need is greatest, around the world.

Aksa asked for our supporters to pray for her life to improve, and also for her family to have a better life too. Please keep Aksa, and others like her, in your prayers.

God bless you and yours this Harvest,

Nigel Harris
CEO, Tearfund
