Tearfund: Send a green heart

Hi, Peter

Send a green heart

How do you feel about sending your MP a Valentine’s card? In the midst of everything that’s going on right now, that might not be a high priority! The Bible tells us to pray and give thanks for all those in authority. Could you send them a card this Valentine’s Day?

Instead of a traditional message, we’re asking supporters to send a card with a green heart and a message to let them know how much you care about the decisions they make and the effect these have on people in poverty. (You could either draw a heart on the card or make one from felt or another material.)

In particular you could ask them to call on the government to invest more in off-grid renewable energy in developing countries, which we know is the best way to deliver energy to people in poverty. You can write to your MP at the House of Commons, London SW1A 0AA. (If you don’t know who your MP is, you can pop your postcode into to find out.)

If you want more help to get going, we’ve written a blog with a step-by-step guide to sending your MP a card.

Send a green heart

We would love to know how you get on – so please forward any replies you receive to us at the address below.

Every blessing,

Kit Powney, Tearfund Action
