Right now, more than 190 world leaders are meeting in Poland to discuss how to fulfil the Paris Agreement to address climate change.
The 2015 Paris Agreement was a huge leap forward in our fight against climate change. It was the first time nations from all over the world agreed to take collective action on climate change in an effort to limit temperature increase to 1.5 degrees.
Millions of people living in poverty are already being affected by more frequent storms, droughts and floods. So we need to send a clear message to world leaders that the challenge is urgent and the time for action is now. The meetings in Poland are crucial to turning Paris into action. Governments need to agree to strong, fair and clear national plans that will get countries to ‘net zero’ emissions, and to provide funding to help poorer countries cope with climate change that’s already happening.
Will you join us in prayer and petition?
Please do also pray for the talks to succeed. It may feel like a huge challenge, but Jesus says if we have faith the size of a mustard seed then nothing will be impossible for us. That includes stopping dangerous levels of climate change.
