UNITED REFORMED CHURCH
Study, prayer and fellowship groups
Fellowship groups
Groups of us normally meet regularly in people’s homes and on the church premises for fellowship, prayer and study as shown on this page. During the pandemic some are still meeting online . You will be very welcome to join any of these groups. Contact phone numbers for the group leaders are available from the Church Office.
There are separate pages for music groups and for children and young people’s groups.
The following groups are coordinated by Laura Barker
Sunday morning Bible study

This group meets on Sundays at 9:00am, currently in the créche, focussing on study of the background and meaning for us of a Bible passage, led by a member of the group. Contact Nigel Macdonald for more information.
Tuesday afternoon Bible study
A group meets on alternate Tuesdays for Bible study looking at the relevance of Bible teaching to our lives today. Contact Laura Barker for more information.
Tuesday evening Bible study
A group meets on some Tuesdays for Bible study. We use a variety of source material, some directly related to a section of the Bible and some on more general topics related to church life. Contact Rosemairi Evison for info.
Women’s Bible study
A group meets on Fridays at 9:30am for Bible study and fellowship. This is a very informal group, and our small size enables us to speak openly in a relaxed atmosphere. Sometimes we do a series studying a Bible book, sometimes we consider a theme. Contact Laura Barker or Maggie Macdonald.
Prayer group
At 9:30am on Wednesdays we meet online to pray for personal, local or wider concerns, led by Laura Barker. If you would like prayer for yourself or for someone you know please contact Heather Saint or use our online prayer request form.

Prayers for the persecuted church
We meet at 6:30pm on the first Sunday of most months (check the calendar) in the Youth Room to pray for the persecuted church: our brothers and sisters in Christ who cannot profess their faith or worship without fear of violence or intimidation. We are guided particularly by material from CSW. Contact ppc|Nigel Macdonald for details.
Fellowship lunches

On the first Wednesday of each month, normally from October to March, we meet in the Tweddle Hall for lunch followed by a talk by an invited speaker. We hope to restart these lunches within the next few months. Details (will be) in the calendar, or contact Roger Holmes.
TLC: Tea, laughter and chat
On the first and third Tuesday of the month from 2:15 until 4:00pm we meet in the church for chat, a short feature and tea and cakes.
Everyone welcome - young and older people. Contact Heather Saint for more info.
